Murphy

Every large home needs a watch dog, and Murphy is ours. He watches everything. He particularly enjoys chasing tennis balls all over the house. If you pick up a tennis ball, you "own" him. Murphy (officially named Murphy O'Brien Gorke-Felice) is an extremely affectionate miniature apricot poodle. The nice thing about poodles is that they don't shed, and for people who have pet allergies, poodles won't normally affect them.

He is quite well trained, and will try to train guests to give him treats from the breakfast table (we discourage that). Many of our guests have sent correspondence to Murphy after going home. We routinely do a luggage inspection on check-out to ensure nobody is smuggling Murphy home. Don't call him a dog, though; he thinks he is a short person. He also fancies himself quite the squirrel hunter, as this picture shows.

We are pet friendly. Here is Murphy greeting some other canine guests.
